EUNICEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Gerald James Manuel announces his passing at Oaklane Wellness Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the age of 84. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, December 02, 2011 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Father Nathan Comeaux Celebrant.
Gerald known as The Mayor of Second Street served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was a retired Barber and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. Leaving behind to mourn his loss and cherish his memories are his two sisters, Bertha Teadie LeDoux and her husband, Richard, Sr. of Eunice and Patricia Patti Russell and husband, Lew of Beaumont. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
He now rests in Heaven with his beloved parents, Dubuisson and Bertha Reed Manuel his brothers, Shelton, W.C. and Larry Bozy Manuel and a sister, Edwina Fontenot.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Eunice on Thursday, December 1st from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Friday, December 2nd from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Chuck Ortego will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm Thursday evening.
