BASILEIt is with the heaviest hearts that the family of George Glenn Raggio announces his passing on Sunday , August 31, 2014 at Rapides Medical Center in Alexandria at the age of 64. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 06, 2014 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Rite of Committal will follow in the Ashford Cemetery with Father David Hebert Celebrant.
George known to many as Stagger Lee was a hardworking, kind, giving, and loving guy who had a heart of gold. He loved to dance and hunt, but most of all he was a wonderful father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his son, Glenn Raggio and wife, Melissa of Lake Charles his daughter, Nicole LaFleur of Elton his two sisters, Fay Raggio Langley and husband, John Chip and Gwen Aguillard all of Basile. He was blessed with seven grandchildren, Alison, Megan, Ethan, Kane, Harley, Baylor and Parker and further blessed with two great grandchildren, Kyrie and Rilee as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillian Fruge Raggio a sister, Jackie Raggio Colligan and a nephew, Johnny Sonnier.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Friday, September 5th from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, September 6th from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Friday evening.
