EUNICEIt is with great sadness that the family of George F. Karl, Jr. announces his passing on Tuesday, October 02, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes in Lafayette. He was 82. A Celebration of Life will be Celebrated at 11:00 am at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon David Guillory officiating.
George served his country proudly in the United States Army having served in the Korean War. He owned and operated Karls Radio and T.V. Shop then he went on to the oilfield. George was a very talented woodcraftsman. He built toys, desk, furniture, and homes for his children and grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by his loving wife, Ruth Courville Karl of Eunice his two children, Karen Karl Manuel and husband, Windell Manuel of Madison, MS and George F. Karl, III of Poulsbo, WA three grandchildren, Todd Karl Manuel and wife, Jordan Walker Manuel of Ridgeland, MS., Kyle Patrick Manuel of Baton Rouge, Mary Ruth Manuel of Brandon, MS. three great grandchildren, Janelle Elizabeth Manuel of Lutcher, Camryn Allyson Manuel and Jayde Alexandra Manuel both of Baton Rouge four sisters, Lucy Vepraskaus of Chardon, OH., Wilma Finn of Bradenton, FL, Alice Gonder of Boswell, PA., Evelyn Cloud of Cleveland, OH one brother, Joseph Karl of Sarasota, FL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George F. Karl Sr. and Mary Hudak Karl three siblings, Anna Karl Rose, Roy Karl and Delores Davis.
At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, October 4th from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Friday, October 5th from 9:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 6:30 pm Thursday evening.
