BASILE-A Celebration of Life will be Celebrated on January 14, 2009 at 11:00 am at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile for Gabriel Oakes III, 21 days, who passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery with Father Brian Taylor Celebrant.

Gabriel is survived by his parents, Gabriel Oakes, Jr. and Kayla McClelland both of Basile; two brothers, Dominique McClelland and Darius Oakes both of Basile; a sister, Christina McClelland of Basile; maternal grandparents, David McClelland of Vidor, TX. And Rebecca Spell of Basile; paternal grandparents, Gabriel Oakes, Sr. of Hathaway and Dedra and Wilburt Ross of Elton; maternal great grandparents, Bobby and Ruth Spell of Basile; paternal great grandparents, Rapheal and Marvel Guillory of Elton, Emma Fontenot of Elton, and Alphonse Oakes of California; paternal great great grandmother, Ruthie Chretien of Elton.

The family request visiting hours are observed on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile from 8:00 am until time of services.
