BASILEA wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Felicin Brown Marcantel will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Felicin known as Cion to all who knew her passed away on Monday, July 19, 2010 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital after a long and successful life. She was 96. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Rite of Committal will follow in the Ashford Cemetery with Father Brian Taylor Celebrant.

Cion was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was very kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She also enjoyed crocheting. She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Cecil Marcantel and wife, Kathleen of Lake Charles and Orvin Marcantel and wife, Donna of Baton Rouge her sister, Mathilda Manuel of Elton her five grandchildren, Kevin Marcantel, Craig Marcantel, Dawn Abate, Seth Marcantel and Charity Fogleman and her ten great grandchildren.

Now she rests in Heaven with her beloved husband, Adraste Marcantel her parents, Onezime and Felicia Bellon Brown and her sister, Aminthe Guillory Fruge.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Wednesday, July 21st from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Thursday, July 22nd from 8:00 am until time of services. The family will be reciting a Rosary at 6:00 pm Wednesday evening.
