EUNICEIt is with the heaviest heart and great sadness that the family of Everdia Bertrand Fontenot Van Zandt announce her passing on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the Louisiana Extended Care Hospital in Lafayette at the age of 75. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the New Hope Fellowship. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Pastor Woody Gunnels officiating.

Eve was a devoted Christian and was a member of the New Hope Fellowship as well as the Come Lord Jesus Bible Study. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, gardening, and attending grandkids sporting events. But most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will forever be loved and missed by everyone whose hearts she touched especially her loving husband, James Van Zandt of Eunice her three loving children, Bryant Fontenot and wife, Pauline of Ozark, AL, Marc Fontenot and wife, Cheryl of Tallahassee, FL, Lisa Aguillard and husband, Raymond of Eunice. She was a loving and wonderful grandmother to eight grandchildren, Sarah Maglothin, Robert Fontenot, Jessica Fontenot, Garrett Fontenot, Caroline, Andre, Philippe, and Clayton Aguillard and two great grandchildren.

She now rests in Heaven with her beloved first husband, Virgil Fontenot a son, Virgil Fontenot, Jr.and her parents, Ferdie Bertrand and Marie Leger.

At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, June 28th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, June 29th from 8:00 am until time of services.
