Funeral services for Ms. Evelyn Thomas will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2006, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with burial to follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Fr. Cedric Sonnier will officiate.

Ms. Thomas, age 59 and a resident of Eunice, died on Sunday, August 6, 2006, at 8 p.m. at the American Legion Hospital in Jennings. She was a homemaker. Ms. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Martha Fontenot Gautreaux and a sister, Carolyn Fontenot.

The visitation will begin on Tuesday, August 8, 2006, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and again on Wednesday, August 9, 2006, from 8 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be prayed Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.
Survivors include her son, Richard Thomas and wife, Courtney of Round Rock, Tx.; a daughter, Penni Landry and husband, Mike of Lake Charles; two brothers, Joseph Gautreaux of Decatur, Alabama, and Charles Gautreaux of Greenville, S.C.; two sisters, Dorothy Ledoux and Gloria Darbonne both of Eunice; and three grandchildren.
