EUNICE-Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2006, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice, for Mrs. Eve Olivier, 91, who died Saturday, October 14, 2006 at the Eunice Manor Nursing Home.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice with Father Cedric Sonnier officiating.

Mrs. Olivier was a resident of Eunice. Eve was loved by everyone who knew her especially her family and close friends. She lived everyday with the philosophy that loving and belonging to each other is the essence of family. As the loving matriarch of a very large family, she held everyone together by her strength, personality, and faith in God. One of her favorite pastimes was quilting with her daughters and grand-daughters. Along with cherished memories, her family will always have these quilts that link generations with threads of love and devotion.

Mrs. Olivier was preceded in death by her husband, Bertrand Olivier; her parents, Frank and Alydia Picard; two sons, James and Berchman Olivier; two daughters, Linda Olivier and Carol Andrus; two son-in-laws, Bobby Breaux and Pete Berniard; and one grand-daughter, Kathy Breaux.

Survivors includes one son, Kenneth Willis Olivier and wife, Debra of Vidor, TX; son-in-law, Chuck Andrus of Eunice; three daughters, Mary Dorothy Vasseur of Eunice, Bernitta Berniard of Baton Rouge, Connie Marie Tarter and husband, Steve of Scott; daughter-in-law, Kathy Olivier of Collinsville, OK; two sisters, Angelle Darbonne , Evelyn Thibodeaux both of Eunice; 34 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin Sunday, October 15, 2006, from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Monday, October 16, 2006, from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Sunday evening.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Staff and residents of Eunice Manor Nursing Home and to the Staff of Acadiana Medical Center.
