Ettaline "Cat" Guidry

EUNICE~ It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ettaline “Cat” Guidry announces her passing on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Oaklane Wellness and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 90. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Hampton Davis, Celebrant.

Ettaline, affectionately known as “Cat” to all who knew and loved her, was born on March, 16, 1937, in Whiteville, La to the late John and Annie Richard Doucet. She enjoyed camping and music throughout her life. Her greatest love was for her family and all of her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Ettaline will be missed by all, especially her children, Terry Guidry and wife, Faye of Eunice, Steve Guidry of Hathaway, and Peggy Quebodeaux of Eunice; her eleven grandchildren, Joseph Martin, Jr., Tricia Quebodeaux, Stacy Quebodeaux, Dexter Guidry, Tasha Fontenot, Kristie Darbonne, Nick Quebodeaux, Brandy Aucoin, Brian Guidry, Jordy Guidry, and James Quebodeaux; her twenty-six great grandchildren and her thirty-three great-great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Guidry; children, Judy Martin and Patrick Guidry; her parents; and brothers, Neuburn Doucet and Norris Doucet.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, March 20th from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and again on Friday, March 21st from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will pray a rosary at 6:30 pm on Thursday.
