EUNICE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice for Mrs. Ethelie Fruge, 89, who passed away on Friday, February 13, 2009 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. Rite of Committal to follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Ed Duhon Celebrant.
Mrs. Ethelie was a native of Mamou and a resident of Eunice who always had a smile on her face and loved her Grandchildren. She will also be remembered as one who liked being around people and just enjoyed life. Mrs. Ethelie was an avid musician who enjoyed playing Cajun French music and was recently honored for her talents by being inducted into the Cajun Music Hall of Fame.
She is survived by her two sons, Winston Fuselier and his wife, Carole Ann of Eunice, and Roderick Fuselier and his wife, Ceil of Lafayette; a step son, Marcus Fruge of Mamou; a step daughter, Marcella Pate of Fort Worth, Tx; a sister, Rita Anne Tate LeDoux and her husband, Albert of Broussard; ten grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Verona Fuselier; her parents, Hosea and Lovina Guillory Tate; brothers, Paul Tate and Donald Tate, and a sister Hazel Fuselier.
The family request that visiting hours be observed on Friday, February 13, 2009 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, February 14, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Friday evening.
