EUNICE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at 11:00 am at St. Thomas Chapel in Savoy for Mr. Elwood Big Soileau, 83, who passed away on Monday, October 29, 2007 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Thomas Cemetery with Father Austin Leger and Father Joe Alexander Celebrant.

A Loving Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather and also a Navy Veteran of World War II, Mr. Soileau is survived by his wife, Ethel L. Soileau of Eunice; two sons, Dale Soileau of Eunice, Barry K. Soileau and wife, Cynthia of Eunice; one daughter, Margretta Soileau and husband, Jerry of Lafayette; two sisters, Ivy Fruge of Eunice, Betty Guillory of Ville Platte; seven grandchildren Tiffany Gaudet, Jared Soileau, Ashley Soileau of Lafayette, Brandon Soileau, Zachary Soileau, Matthew Soileau, Lauren Soileau of Eunice; three great-grandchildren, Fischer and Graham Gaudet and Carver Soileau of Lafayette.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eluis and Louise Fontenot Soileau; son, Archie Soileau; two sisters, Inez Fontenot and Aline Naquin.

The family request that visiting hours be observed at St. Thomas Chapel in Savoy on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 from 8:00 am until time of services.
