EUNICEIt is with the heaviest hearts and great sadness that the family of Elvy Andrew Thibodeaux announces his sudden passing on Friday, February 17, 2011. He was 73. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 21, 2011 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Thomas More Cemetery with Father Cedric Sonnier Celebrant.

Elvy was a truck driver as well as a Saints football fan and avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening. He had 54 loving years with his wife, Geneva Fontenot Thibodeaux of Eunice. Elvy was a loving father to three lovely children who he was very close to including his son, Douglas Andrew Thibodeaux and wife, Janey of Carencro his two daughters, Sheila Thibodeaux Lane and husband, Charles Buddy of Eunice, Belinda Thibodeaux Broussard, and husband, Gib of Lafayette. Also mourning his loss are his five brothers, Wilbur Thibodeaux and wife, Hazel of St. Martinville, Charles Thibodeaux and companion, Vena of Onalaska, TX, John Thibodeaux and wife, Nettie of Lafayette, Ronald Thibodeaux and wife, Gloria of Kansas, Darrell Thibodeaux and wife, Debbie of Eunice his two sisters, Dorothy Thibodeaux Fontenot and husband, P. L. and Etta Thibodeaux Fontenot and husband, Roland all of Ville Platte. Elvy was a dear and loving grandfather to his five grandchildren, Hope Lane Francis and husband. Terry, Jeffery Lane, Donovan Thibodeaux, Camden Thibodeaux and Haylee Thibodeaux and his two great grandchildren, Brianna Francis and Ashton Francis. A host of nephews, nieces, and friends will also miss him.

He now rests in Heaven with his beloved parents, Elzia and Isabelle Miller Thibodeaux and his infant brother, Easton Thibodeaux.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Sunday, February 20th from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Monday, February 21st from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm Sunday evening.
