BASILEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Elverdie Verdie Courville announces her passing on Friday, November 12, 2010 at Opelousas General Health System surrounded by her loved ones. She was 77 A Celebration of Life will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Basile. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Cemetery with Reverend Dwayne Smith officiating.

Elverdie known as Verdie to all who knew her was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege and honor of knowing and loving her. Verdie will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Moise Courville of Basile her six children, Paul Glenn Courville, Sr. of Basile, Patricia C. Cart and husband, Doug of Eunice, Randy Courville and wife, Brenda of Gena, Steve Courville and wife, Georgie of Basile, Kaye C. McGee and husband, Jamie of Ville Platte and Monica Courville of Basile and one sister, Paulina B. Smith of Basile. She was blessed with thirteen grandchildren and further blessed with twelve great grandchildren.

Verdie now rests in Heaven with her beloved parents, Miguel and Marie Miller Bellon a sister, Willa Mae Smith two brothers, Benton and Willard Bellon and a grandson, Paul Glenn Courville, Jr.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Friday, November 12, 2010 from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, November 13, 2010 from 7:00 am until time of services.
