BasileA wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Elsie Doga will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Elsie died peacefully on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at the Maison De Lafayette. She was 88. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Brian Taylor Celebrant.

Elsie was retired from the Evangeline Parish School Board as a lunch room manager as well as a volunteer for the Basile Nursing Home for many years. She leaves behind a son, Gary W. Doga and wife, Sheryl of Basile her two daughters, Dolores Harris of Alexandria and Dorsette Phillips of Basile her sister, Lou Fontenot of Ville Platte her five grandchildren, Renee Austell, Lynette Fontenot, Ben Doga, Brandon and Jonathan Phillips her seven great grandchildren, Madison Dunn, Emery Doga, Dylan Phillips, Alexander Dutch Doga, Theodore Austell, Alisha, and Delya.

Now she rests in Heaven with her beloved husband, Dorcelin Dutch Doga and her parents, Avie and Dometile Zot Perron.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Monday, July 11th from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Tuesday, July 12th from 7:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Monday evening.
