IOTA-A Celebration of Life will be Celebrated on Wednesday, January 07, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Iota for Elroy Pousson, 79, who passed away on Monday, January 5, 2009. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery with the Reverend Father Mikel Polson officiating.

Mr. Pousson was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He served in the United States Navy, was a member of Woodmen of the World and was once active in the American Legion for many years.

A Loving husband, father, father-in-law, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather and friend, Elroy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Edna L. Pousson of Iota; four sons, Glenn Pousson, Lynn Pousson, Tommy Pousson, all of Iota, and Kevin Pousson of Port Barre; three daughters, Karen Manuel and husband, Billy of Eunice, Sue Bergeron of Eunice, Shelly Guidry of Crowley; one brother, Elridge Pousson of Iota; seventeen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Elroy will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alcide Pousson; mother, Madie Fontenot; son, Charles Dwayne Pousson; two sisters, Elta Fontenot and Ella Mae Wriborg; and one granddaughter, Penny Pousson.

The family request that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, January 06, 2008 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Iota from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Wednesday, January 07, 2008 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Tuesday evening.
