EUNICEA wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Elery Lee Doise will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Elery died peacefully on Thursday, December 31, 2009, at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was 83. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday, January 02, 2010 at 1:00 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Entombment will follow at the St. Paul Mausoleum with Father Gil Dutel Celebrant.br Elery serviced his country proudly in the United States Army following World War II. The things that brought Elery the most joy in his life were being with his family and friends.br He leaves behind a loving and grateful family including his wife, of nine years, Loretta Treme Doise of Eunice; his three sons, Dennis and his wife, Mary Jane Doise, Daryl Doise and his wife, Anne, and Desi and his wife, Sharon all of Lafayette; his two daughters, Dana McKay and her husband, Robert of Crosby, TX and Dannielle Bozyone and her husband, Darrell of Eunice; his two brothers, Elmer Doise of Kinder and Schelly Doise of Scott; his sister, Bethel Deaugereaux of Elton; his sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. br Pallbearers will be Elerys three sons, Dennis, Daryl and Desi Doise, his two son-in-laws, Darrell Bozyone and Robert McKay, and his oldest grandson, Derrick Veillon.br Elery was active in the Eunice community. He retired from Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society as the South Louisiana State Manager after 34 years of service. He was a member of St. Anthonys Catholic Church where in the past he has served as a lector. He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus, National Fraternal Congress of America and the Family Motor Coach Association.br He loved the Cajun way of life and shared the awesome food and entertainment with many across this country while traveling the United States and Canada in his motor home. All who met him would tell you that he was passionate about the spirit of the Cajun culture and even more passionate about America and the sacrifices that he and all other veterans have made to make America what it is.br Elery was a loving husband and father and grandfather who never met a stranger. He was known for his intense work ethic and self-discipline but, what was not known by many was his compassionate and charitable heart. His Sundays were frequently spent visiting friends and family members who were confined to their homes or nursing homes. Most important to Elery was his faith in Jesus Christ to which he remained true until his passing.br Now he rests in heaven with his wife of fifty one years Irene Doise and his parents, Jasper and Evelia Veillon Doise.br At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Friday, January 01, 2010 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice from 12 noon until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, January 02, 2010 from 9:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 5:00 pm Friday evening.br
