BASILEA wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Elaine Cart Bellon will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Elaine died peacefully on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was 73. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Brian Taylor Celebrant.
Elaine was born on February 19, 1936 in Iota. She retired as a Food Service Coordinator for LSU-E after 26 years. The things that brought Elaine the most joy in her life were being with her family and friends. She was very much loved by her husband of 55 years, John H. Bellon and her children, Connie Vancleve and her husband, Stephen of New Iberia, Paul K. Joe Bellon and his wife, Misty of Tepetate, Jennifer Redlich of Port Arthur, John D. Bellon and his wife, Karla of Egan, Phyllis Maybrier and her husband, Robert of Basile and Shelia Sattler and her husband, Todd of Tepetate. Elaine was a beloved and devoted grandmother to 14 grandchildren, Jacob Vancleve and his wife, Kally, Lindy Doucet and her husband, Daylon, Laura Daigle and her husband Tran, Laney Bellon, Emily and Ian Redlich, Kristopher Bellon and his wife, Susan, Browdie and Andrew Bellon, Robert Blake Maybrier and his wife, Ashley, Katelyn Maybrier, Heidi Siebert and her husband, Kyle, Alex and Whitney Sattler and her ten great-grandchildren, Zoe Vancleve, Mallory and Bryn Doucet, Owen, Connor, Payton, and Hudson Daigle, Aden Redlich, Prestyn Bellon, and Ethan Maybrier. Also mourning her loss are her brother, Hugh Cart of Scottsdale, AZ and her sister, Anita Reed of Crowley.
Now she rests in heaven with her beloved parents, Ewell and Edith Miller Cart and her brother, Hilary Cart.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Friday, October 09, 2009 from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, October 10, 2009 from 7:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Friday evening.
