Edna Mcmanus

EUNICEIn loving memory of Edna Rounsavall McManus who passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the age of 87. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

In Ednas 30s she attended college to continue her education and received a Masters with thirty plus hours in Speech Pathology and elementary education from USL and LSU. From 1964 to 1998 she was employed with the American Speech, Hearing and Language BA 64 USWN , Director of Speech and Hearing for the St. Landry Parish School Board, Speech and hearing consultant for the special education team SLU Special Education Department, Clinic Director of Speech, Hearing and Language Programs and a University Professor USL ULL University Professor of Speech, Hearing and Language Louisiana State Department of Education in Baton Rouge where she was the Supervisor of speech, hearing and language department as well as a consultant for the book, Terminology of Communication Disorder. After retirement she went into Private Practice and enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. She enjoyed life by bringing a sense of humor to everyday life.

Edna, born in Vivian, LA and resided in Eunice, LA, loved birds and flowers, spending many hours enjoying nature. Even after retiring she never completely gave up her need to help people in her chosen profession of Speech Therapy. Edna was a very spiritual and caring individual that inspired and touched many lives.

She leaves behind three children Nelson Mac L. McManus, Jr. married to Sue Lowe of Indiana and their two children, Blake McManus of Dallas and Blaine McManus and his son Trace McManus of California. Pamela M. Koch married to Danny Koch of Eunice Penny M. Phillips married to Robert Phillips of North Carolina and their two children, Jessica and Joshua Phillips of North Carolina one sister, Dorothy R. Wallace of Natchitoches.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Cornelia Evers Rounsavall of Vivian, LA.
