YOUNGSVILLE-Edna Baker Hudson, 94, of Youngsville, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on July 04, 2007 at the J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville, LA. Our sincere thanks to the staff for the care given to Mrs. Hudson during her time of residence.
Mrs. Hudson, a native of Crowley, LA, was born on September 01, 1912. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lafayette, where she taught Sunday School and was president of the Womens Missionary Union. After moving to Jennings, LA in 1950, she attended in the First Baptist Church in Jennings and participated in establishing a mission church in Mermentau, LA. She also participated in Vacation Bible Schools in areas around Jennings.
After moving to Youngsville in 1979, she was an active member and teacher at the First Baptist Church in Youngsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband Willie T. Hudson and her first son Roy Alvin Hudson. She is survived by her second son Merle Hudson and his wife, Sylvia, one sister, Ethel Miller of Sulphur, LA five grand children, eleven great grand children and eight great-great-grand children.
Services will be conducted on Saturday, July 07, 2007 by Mark Gaudin, pastor of First Baptist Church of Youngsville, at 10:00 am in the chapel of the Ardoins Funeral Home at 1301 W. Laurel Ave, Eunice, LA. The graveside service will take place at the Pilgrim Rest Cemetery and will be conducted by Orville Rogers, pastor of the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at 1138 Academy Dr., Eunice, LA.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Friday, July 06, 2007 and from 8:00 am until time of services on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested the donations be made in memory of Mrs. Hudson to LA Baptist Childrens Home, P.O. Box 4196, Monroe, LA 71211-9986.
