EUNICE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 2:00 pm for Earlene Rozas Stone, 91, who passed away on Friday, April 10, 2009 at Landmark of Baton Rouge. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Earlene graduated from high school at age fifteen during the depression and was a graduate from Sacred Heart College of Grand Coteau. She then taught school for several years in Chataignier. In 1942 she joined the United States Navy and upon returning, completed a four year degree at LSU of Baton Rouge. She then began teaching elementary until retirement. In her later years she began writing poetry and short stories for children.

She will be lovingly remembered by her four daughters, Ann Rene Stone of Baton Rouge, Dr. Mary Sue Street and her husband, James Carlos Buddy of Eunice, Martha Lee Stone of Baton Rouge and Margaret Jessie Stone of Houston, TX.; a brother, Arthur Lloyd Rozas of Chataignier; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren;

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Jesse Stone Jr. and her parents, Osmin and Anna Aucoin Rozas.

The family request that visiting hours be observed on Monday, April 13, 2009 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 from 10:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm Monday evening.
