EUNICEFuneral services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Eunice, for Earl L. Buck Reeves, 92, who passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Lafayette General Hospital. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until immediately prior to the services with Pastor Tim Moffett officiating.

Buck is survive by his loving wife of 70 years, Eula Mae of Crowley, his three children, his son Lowell Reeves and his wife, Peggy of Eunice, his daughter, Sherald Reeves Smith and her husband, Clifton Buz of Eunice and his son Bobby Reeves and his wife, Beth of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Rip Reeves and his wife, Suzie, Ginger Smith Rozas and her husband, Jacque , Courtney Reeves Schilling and her husband, Greg, Leanne Reeves, and Kathryn Reeves; five great grandchildren, Alex Rozas, Kramer Rozas, Taylor Reeves; three sisters, Melva Reeves Dykes, Mary Esther Reeves Ziefle, and Jenny Reeves Powell; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Reeves, and mother, Azilee Koonce Reeves; three brothers, Henry Reeves, Ward Reeves, and Leonard Reeves; and three sisters, Velma Reeves Haggart, Ermy Reeves, and Saline Reeves Stout.

Buck had a long career in oil and gas production, starting in 1936, with Union Sulphur Company in Lake Charles. He also worked for Texas Pacific Oil Co. in Lafayette beginning in 1961, and retired from Sun Gas in 1982, as Area Production Superintendent.

Buck was an involved and dedicated member of his church and the Evangeline Shrine Club. He loved the outdoors and to hunt and fish, especially with friends and family. Buck was known affectionately to his grandchildren as Pop and leaves a legacy of hard work, faith, kindness, devotion, and love.

Pallbearers include, Doug Powell, Tommy Reeves, Alex Rozas, Kramer Rozas, Jacque Rozas, and Greg Schilling.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to: Shriners Hospital, 815 Market Street, Galveston, TX, 77550 or First Baptist Church Building Fund, 311 South 3rd Street, Eunice, LA 70535.
