EUNICEIt is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Earl P. Fuselier announces his passing on the morning of Friday, September 20, 2013 at Opelousas General Hospital at the age of 80. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 12 noon on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park with Father Cedric Sonnier Celebrant.
Earl served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War and was presented the Silver Star for gallantry in action. He was retired from Conoco, he loved to fish, duck hunt, traveling and camping but most of all he loved his family. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend who will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his seven children, Ferdette Cart and husband, Byron, Jerry Fuselier and wife, Terri and Terry Fuselier and wife, Pookie all of Eunice, Vanessa Messina and husband, Frank of Lake Arthur, Kathy Bollich and husband, Eric of Eunice, Sonyia Bruchhaus and husband, Philip of Elton and David Fuselier of Lafayette. He was a wonderful and loving grandfather to sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Also mourning his loss is his dog, Harley.
He now rests in Heaven with his beloved wives, Helen Deshotel Fuselier and Diana Manuel Fuselier parents, Etel and Celestine Fontenot Fuselier daughter, Lynn Fontenot two grandchildren, a brother and a sister.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, September 20th from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, September 21st from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Friday evening.
