EUNICEThe family announces with sorrow the death of their loving mother, grandmother, and friend, Dorothy Louise Kilburn on Thursday, January 05, 2012 at Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas at the age of 83. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice on Saturday, January 07, 2012. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Father Cedric Sonnier Celebrant.

Dorothy known as Dottie to all who knew her, studied at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston where she acquired her nursing degree, and then at the University of Houston for her doctorate degree. She lived in many countries such as Switzerland, England, and Saudi Arabia where she was Director of Nursing. She was an alumni of Grand Coteau and a devoted catholic citizen whom loved to sing in church choir. She was a member of the St. Thomas More Ladies Alter Society as well as a member of the Catholic Daughters. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten by her three sons, Bruce Richard Kilburn of Krotz Springs, Kerry Alan Kilburn and wife, Cynthia and Mark Robin Kilburn and wife, Elena all of Houston, TX her daughter, Valerie Kilburn and husband, Frank of Randolph, N.J. She was blessed with six grandchildren, Corey, Patrick, Krystin, Adrien, and Nicolas and further blessed with one grandchild, Austin.

She now rests in Heaven with her beloved parents, Noah and Louise Guillory grandson, Brandon and her aunt and uncle, Hubert and Penny Hebert.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, January 6th from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, January 7th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Friday evening.
