EUNICEIt is with heavy hearts that the family of Dot Vidrine announces she passed peacefully on the morning of Friday, September 20, 2013 at Oaklane Wellness Rehabilitation Center in Eunice at the age of 80 surrounded by her loving family. Dot was born August 10, 1933 in Basile to Tobaire and Ada Courville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice on Monday, September 23, 2013. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Father Dustin Dought Celebrant.
Dot thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Dot lived most of her life in Eunice and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church as well as a member of the Catholic Daughters, Womens VFW, Woodman of the World, St. Landry Parish Commissioners, CCD Teacher, St. Anthony Choir, Eucharistic Minister for St. Anthony Church and a member of St. Judes organization. She dedicated her time helping families.
Dot was an employee of Anthonys Department Store, Jerrys Furniture, and Browns Furniture as well as in the catering business for over 30 years. Most people will remember her as the greeter or storyteller at Rubys Restaurant. Dot was never a stranger to anyone. If there was something you needed she was there. She was a very kind and loving person.
As a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister,and aunt, she has left many memories to cherish. She will be missed dearly. Precious memories of her will remain forever in the hearts of her children, Lee Dwayne Vidrine, Sheila V. Baldwin, Melina V. West and husband, Michael and Curt Fontenot all of Eunice two stepchildren, Barbara Roy of Lake Charles and Glenn Vidrine of Eunice and her sister, Carrie LeJeune. She was a wonderful and loving grandmother to seven grandchildren, Kim Delino, Wendy Thibodeaux, Brandi Prather, Paige Moody, Mattie Cortina, Brett Baldwin and Kendria Hortness and eleven great grandchildren. Also mourning her loss are nieces, nephews, and friends.
She now rests in Heaven with her beloved husband, Lee J. Vidrine parents, Tobaie and Ada Marcantel Courville, daughter, Clara Thibodeaux, stepdaughter, Flo Bellow, soninlaw, Mike Thibodeaux, and two brothers, Curry and LeRoy Courville.
At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Saturday, September 21st from 2:00 pm until time of services on Monday, September 23rd. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Sunday evening by Deacon Gary Gaudin.
