EUNICE-It is with great sadness that the family of Dora Belle Huval announces her passing on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at home surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 80. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 2:00 pm at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Cedric Sonnier Celebrant.
Dora known as Belle to all who knew her was a waitress for many years at the Frost Stop, Chatterbox and the Pelican Restaurant and also a clerk for Maple Avenue Pharmacy since it opened in 1974. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and Catholic Daughters Association for St. Anthony Catholic Church. Belle will be remembered as one who enjoyed being with her family and friends. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend. Belle will be lovingly remembered by her four sons, Ferdie Huval, Jr and his companion, Marcia Harter of Eunice, Lydrus Lolly Huval of Beaumont, TX, Blake Huval and his wife, Susan of Eunice, and Timmy Huval and his wife, Denise of Egan; her four daughters, Susan Westland and her husband, Rodney, Gwen Courville and her husband, Augie, Sheila Huval, Marsha Huval and her companion, Dr. Kevin Miller and Jessica Huval all of Eunice; her two sisters, Deola Deshotel of Eunice and Earline Cole of Lafayette; twenty three grandchildren and twenty three great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Belle will be forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved. She will be truly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferdie Huval, Sr., her parents, Gus and Odelia Moreau Arnaud; her brothers, Joseph Arnaud, Nelson Arnaud, Willie Arnaud, and Dudley Arnaud; her sisters, Violet Young, Elrina Brown, Rita Comeaux, Agnes Vidrine, Tina Arnaud and her granddaughter, Dionne Huval.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Thursday, May 14, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Wednesday evening.
