EUNICEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Dora Ann Darbonne on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Lafayette General Hospital. She was 55. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Cedric Sonnier Celebrant.

Dora was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. While it was important caring for her children, she truly cherished and loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind her loving husband of 36 years, Steve Darbonne of Eunice her two sons, Korey Darbonne and wife, Tina and Rusty Darbonne all of Eunice her two daughters, Brooke and Taylor Darbonne both of Eunice her brother, Kent Ortego and wife, Karen of Ville Platte her sisters, Carlene Darbonne and husband, Burnette and Faye Manuel both of Eunice and the littlest joys of her life, her six grandchildren, Kyle, Haley, Seth, Tabitha, Zane and Julia.

She now rests in Heaven with her beloved parents, Array and Gertie Vidrine Ortego.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, October 14th from 9:00 am until 11:00 pm and again on Saturday, October 15th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Friday evening.
