EUNICEThe family announces with sorrow, the passing of Dillard John D.J. Young on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was 75. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at noon on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Pastor Brandon Miller officiating.

Dillard, known to many as D.J., served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. He was a crane operator, but most importantly he was a beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather. He will be missed dearly by his wife, Ruby L. Young of Port Allen and they were the proud parents of three sons, Gregory J. Young and wife, Shirley of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Mitchell K. Young and wife, Theresa of Ocean Springs, MS and Jody M. Young of Port Allen two daughters, Amy Gilchrist and husband, Lee of Plaquamine and Sherri Delaune and husband, Sidney of Port Allen a brother, Gilbert Young of Lafayette three sisters, Edile Young Reviere, Deanna Young Prather, and Linda Young Slocum all of Eunice. A wonderful and loving grandfather to seven grandchildren, Jenny Young Davis, Shantel, Scotty, Blaise and Alison Young, Jessie Lee and Carly Gilchrist and two great grandchildren, Caden and Kenadi Davis.

He now rests in Heaven with his beloved parents, Venel and Alica Courville Young a son, Kim Anthony Young and a brother, Henry Young.

At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Saturday, January 19th from 9:00 am until time of services.
