IOTA – It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Derwin “Dud” Paul Davy passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 in Basile, Louisiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota with burial to follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
Derwin “Dud” Paul Davy was born on Tuesday, October 28, 1947 in Iota, Louisiana to Emery and Viola Lejeune Davy. was a hard worker and worked many years in the oilfield in order to provide for his family. When not working, he enjoyed cooking and especially eating what he cooked. Visiting with family and friends was something he cherished.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his son, Scotty Davy (Erica) of Eunice; daughter, Mary Catherine Vega of Slidell; step-son, Charles "Randy" Ardoin of Eunice; brother-in-law, Benny Sylvester of Lawtell; sister, Juliana Young of Lake Charles; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dud now rests with his parents; wife, Norma Jean Davy; son, Dusty Paul Davy; sisters, Wilma Jean Breaux and Edwina Sylvester; and brother-in-law, Earl Young.
Visitation to remember Dud will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home chapel in Iota beginning at 8:00 AM until dismissal for service.
