EUNICEIt is with great sadness that the family of Dennis Hollier announces his passing on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou surrounded by his loved ones. He was 85. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Friday, April 23, 2010 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice at 10:00 am. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Cedric Sonnier Celebrant.
Dennis a resident of Eunice serviced his country proudly in the United States Navy. He was the owner and operator of Holliers Super Check and was the original cofounder of Eunice Superette and Slaughter House. He was a Woodmen of the World officer for many years as well as the Affiliated Blind of Louisiana State Board for seven years.
He was a true gift to his wife, kids, and grandkids. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife, Verna L. Hollier of Eunice along with their three beautiful children, two sons, Dennis Dale Hollier and wife, Linda Fruge of Denham Springs, Keith Hollier and wife, Connie Fusilier of Mamou his daughter, Abbie Hollier Marcantel and husband, Dennis of Eunice his brother, Auley Hollier of Mamou. He is also mourned by his grandchildren of whom he was very proud, Desiree Hollier Feucht, Michael Hollier, Dawn Hollier Babineaux, Tami Hollier, Dustin Douget, April Miller, and Alex Marcantel. His two greatgrandchildren, Kohl Feucht and Kaylee Babineaux were a great source of joy.
Now he rests in heaven with his beloved parents, Octave and Ida Hollier six brothers and five sisters.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, April 22nd from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Friday, April 23rd from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be held at 7:15 pm on Thursday evening.
