Iota~It is with heavy hearts that the family of Daphne Doucet announces her passing on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at her home at the age of 53. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 2:00 pm at United Pentecostal Church in Evangeline. Interment will follow in The Bluff Cemetery in Evangeline with Pastor Patterson officiating.
Daphne was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a very kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and dancing and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a loving daughter to Wayne Doucet and step-daughter to Carole Doucet of Welsh; a wonderful mother to two daughters, Tiffany Doucet Floyd and husband, Isaac and Letha Hicks all of Iota; loving step-mother to Victoria Evans of Opelousas and Brody Evans and wife, Leona of Mamou; a loving sister to Dwight Doucet and wife, Bridget and Dwayne Doucet and wife, Yvonne all of Evangeline and Dayton Doucet and wife, Lindy of Egan; a wonderful and loving grandmother to eight grandchildren, Mariah Doucet, Melaina Mahaffey, Brielle Doucet, Traylin Gautreaux, Rylan Motty, Liam Miller, Brody and Vickey Evans; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Lacombe Doucet.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at United Pentecostal Church in Evangeline on Friday, June 17th from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, June 18th from 10:00 am until time of services.
