EUNICE-A wonderful husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, Dale C. Smith passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at the age of 50. A celebration service of Dales life will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 10:00 am at the New Hope Fellowship Church in Eunice. Rite of committal will follow in the Durio Cemetery in Oberlin with Pastor Woody Gunnels officiating.

The things that brought Dale the most joy in his life were being with his family and friends, hunting, cooking, and mechanic which he was offshore for Shamrock Management, LLC. He loved to joke and laugh with people but most of all he loved to read his Bible.

Left behind to cherish his memories is his loving wife, Sandra B. Smith of Vidrine; his mother, Clairlynn Smith of Oberlin; his step son, Jody Savant of Basile; his daughter, Brittany Thibodeaux of Mamou; his two stepdaughters, Heather Fuselier and Nicole Miller both of Vidrine; his maternal grandmother, Vena Duplechain of Oberlin; his sister, Penny Fontenot of Basile; and his four beloved grandchildren, Isabella Thibodeaux, Trevor, Haleigh and Abigail Fuselier. Dale will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He lived a life surrounded by people who loved him and he loved.

Now he rests in heaven with his beloved father, Daris Smith and his maternal grandfather, Albert Joseph Duplechain.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, July 20, 2009 from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services.
