BASILE-Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2006, at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile for Mr. Conrad Dale Marcantel, Sr., 77, who died Monday, October 16, 2006.

Interment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum in Basile with Father Ken Dominque officiating.

Mr. Marcantel was a resident of Basile. He was a retired high school teacher and assistant principle at Basile High School for 32 years. He was a Charter member of the K.C. Council 3662, Fourth Degree Knight, member of American Legion Post 261, and lector at St. Augustine Catholic Church.

He is survived by his lovely wife, Annie Alice Reed Marcantel of Basile; his children, Susan M. Ardoin and husband, Don of Mamou, Conrad Marcantel, Jr. of Basile, Julie M. Conde and husband, Frank of Carencro, Wade Marcantel of Basile; a sister, Eloise Fruge of Lake Charles; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, October 17, 2006, from 12 noon until 10:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, October 18, 2006, from 7:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.
