EUNICECharley Courville was born on March 10, 1925, to Adam Courville and Eunice Maher Courville. On June 11, 1950, he married Marie Miller in Eunice, Louisiana. Charley served his country proudly in the United States Army for three years, then in the United States Navy for three years. He has lived in the Katy area for the past 50 years.

Charley passed away on Sunday, January 02, 2011, at his home in Katy, at the age of 85 years.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie Courville of Katy children, Helen Touchet and her husband, Richard of Katy, Gloria Schmidt and her husband, John of Houston, Liz Duhon and her husband, Ricky of Basile, Jane Ehlert of Sealy and Martin Courville and his wife, Marian of Katy twelve grandchildren, Tina, Kristi, John Jr., Tonya, Cheyenne, Blake, Courtney, Nicholas, Melissa, Charles, Wesley, and Nicole and eighteen great grandchildren. Also mourning his loss is his two sisters, Bessie Courville of Eunice and Alice Verret of Grapevine, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Eunice Courville and son, Charles Joseph Courville four sisters, Laura Smith, Odile Schexnaider, Emma McBride and Mary Winn and a brother, Martin Courville.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 04, 2010, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, with Rev. David DuBois reciting. At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, January 5th from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm with a 6:00 pm Rosary recited by Deacon Gary Gaudin. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 6th at 10:00 am at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice.. Interment to follow in the Courville Cemetery with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to the Michael E. DeBakery VA Medical Centery, Veterans Affairs Voluntary Services, 2002 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas 77030.
