EUNICE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 2:00 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice for Charles Dutch Spekschate, 61, who passed away Sunday, February 24, 2008 at St. Lukes Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Texas. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Cedric Sonnier Celebrant.
Dutch was a good husband and father. He was a Field Analyst with Key Energy Services. He always put others needs above his own. He was a very hard and loyal worker and despite his bad health he was a fighter. Typical of Dutch were his humor and practical jokes.
We are proud to have had him as a husband, father and brother, Dutch is survived by his wife, Fanny Speyrer Spekschate of Eunice; a son, Vincent Paul Spekschate of Lafayette; a daughter, Maria Spekschate Wiggins and husband, Hunter of Lafayette; six brothers, Antoon Spekschate of Almelo, Netherlands, Richard Spekschate of Ambt Delden, Netherlands, Hans Spekschate of Deventer, Netherlands, Rene Spekschate of Zuidlaren, Netherlands, Maurice Spekschate of Gennep, Netherlands, and Marcel Spekschate of Bathmen, Netherlands.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernardus and Maria Fikken Spekschate.
The family request that visitation be observed at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, February 25, 2008 from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon T.J. Richard will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Monday evening.
Family request that donations be may to the Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
