BASILEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Cecil Fournerat announces his passing on Thursday, October 18, 2012 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was 80. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 22, 2012 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father David Hebert Celebrant.
A proud veteran, Cecil served in the United States Army. He was a self employed contractor, heavy equipment salesman for Head Enquist, and his last years a consultant for Louisiana Crane Construction. Most of all, Cecil adored his wife and family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a supportive, giving and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend and will be very deeply missed by his wife of 56 years, Rosy B. Fournerat of Basile his three daughters, Celeste Burge and husband, Gene of Basile, Canda Fontenot and husband, Dwayne of Phoenix, AZ., Christine Ledoux and husband, Kerne of Basile his son, Logan Fournerat of Basile his sister, Bertha Touchet of Iowa. He was blessed with twelve grandchildren, Erica F. Oliphant, Brady Fontenot, Blair Fontenot, Emily F. Hansen, Lindsay B. Landry, Jordan Burge, Jon Logan Fournerat, Jake Paul Fournerat, Jodi Fournerat, Allison Ledoux, Drake Ledoux and Abby Ledoux and he was further blessed with three great grandchildren, Paisley Landry, Tysen Hansen and Harper Fournerat.
He now rests in Heaven with his beloved parents, Victorian and Ella Stroderd Fournerat two brothers, Clinton and Conway Fournerat and a sister, Dorothy Miller.
At the request of the family visitation will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile on Monday, October 22nd from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm.
