Catherine Marie Leger was the fourth of nine children born to Cama Lee and Jesse Leger, born May 26, 1956 in Port Sulpur, Louisiana. She married her beloved husband, Steven Bartet, on October 12, 1971 in Gretna, Louisiana .

Cathy and Steve have lived in several towns across the southern states of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Her smiling eyes, pure spirit, loving arms, and warm heart have allowed her to make a home anywhere she laid her hat. She was like a second mother to many of her nieces and nephews through the years and always had room to love them all while waiting the 13 years after marriage to be blessed with her own children. She continued to be a landmark of faith, love, and optimism in the family as she embarked on her own journey of motherhood. A fond time period is when Cathy and Steve owned and operated the popular Paradis Snow Castle snowball and sandwich shop in Paradis, Louisiana for over eleven years. Loyal customers returned not only for the delicious flavors offered at the shop but for the genuine charm and kindhearted service they offered the community. Cathy was truly one of the sweetest people to ever walk the earth.

Cathy Bartet was called home on March 10, 2013 to be with GOD and those who preceded her in death. Touchingly it was five years to the date that her mother, CamaLee entered into eternal rest and it is heartwarming to know they are together in heaven along with Jesse PawPaw Leger and her late daughter in law, Martha May Bartet.

Cathy leaves a monumental amount of cherished memories by those she is survived by: her husband of 41 years, Steven Bartet, her two adoring children, Stephanie Rita Bartet and Steven Bartet, her daughter in law Misty Bartet, one grandson Steven Louis Bartet Jr. age 7, and one grandson expected to be born in June 2013 Logan Bryce Bartet, her siblings Judith Romero Larry, David Leger Winnie , Cheryl Leger, Jacqueline Leger, Germaine LegerJulia Weiner, Dwayne Leger, Matthew Leger, and Michael Leger, her brother and sister in law, Louis and Nanette Bartet, dear friends Eugene and Suzanne Morvan, and a host of loving nieces and nephews and friends of the family.

At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Iota on Thursday, March 14 from 9:00 am until time of services at 3:00 pm with Pastor Louis Bartet and Deacon David Leger officiating.
