EuniceIt is with the heaviest hearts and great sadness that the family of Carroll Gobert announces his passing on Saturday, May 03, 2014 in Iowa at the age of 63. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, May 12, 2014 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mallet. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Ann Cemetery with Father Greg Simien officiating.

Carroll proudly served his country with the United States Army as a Combat Engineer. Construction was his passion especially buildings and architecture. He enjoyed reading and loved to travel but most of all he was a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend. He will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved him especially his two daughters, Teri Menard of Abbeville and Angeleach Davis of Springfield his four brothers, Eddie Gobert and wife, Mary of Diamondhead, MS, Darrell Gobert of Lake Charles, Paul and Phillip Gobert both of Mallet his three sisters, Genevieve Simien and husband, Rubin, Alonda and Laura Gobert all of Mallet his godmother, Mary Papillion of Brea, California and his three biggest joys of his life, his grandchildren, Tiana, TaShonna and Tavion Menard. He is also survived by two aunts, Julia DuRousseau and Angelina Gobert and his Uncle Allen Gobert.

He now rests in Heaven with his beloved parents, Clarence and Mildred DuRousseau Gobert four brothers, Clarence J., James, Harold and Dennis Gobert and his godfather, Oscar LeCompte.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mallet on Monday, May 12th from 8:00 am until time of services.
