With profound sadness in their hearts, the Olivier family mourns the sudden loss of Carl James Olivier, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend. Carl passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at his home. He was born on April 14, 1954, to John Berchman and Theresa Johnson Olivier. The visitation will be held Tuesday from 10am to 9pm with a rosary led by Deacon Chuck Ortego at 6:30 pm at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice. Wednesday visitation will be from 8am until commencement of service. A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. A burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Sam Fontana, Celebrant.
Carl dedicated fifty years of his life to the oilfield and was now embracing a well-deserved retirement. Throughout his retirement years, he found tremendous joy in simple pleasures - from playing golf, gardening and indulging in creative projects in his workshop. His mornings were brightened by lively conversations over coffee with dear friends. He loved traveling, riding his Harley, cooking delicious meals which included his acclaimed secret recipe of "Chow Chow" and hosting gatherings for loved ones and friends.
Above all else in this world, Carl's family held the most significant place in his heart. His wife of forty-nine years, Jan S. Olivier of Eunice; Father, J.B. Olivier of Eunice; daughter, Jamie Olivier Andrus and spouse Samuel B. of Eunice and son, Dustin Carl Olivier and spouse Erica Nicole of Washington, PA; sister, Jackie O. Broussard and spouse Brent of Eunice.
A source of immense pride and joy for Carl were his grandchildren - Alexa Olivier, Harlow Andrus, Tinsley Olivier, Bronson Olivier and Bashen Olivier. Remembering Carl with love are also numerous extended family members and close friends who held a special place in his heart.
Preceding him in death are his mother Theresa J. Olivier and his in-laws Bertman and Dorothy Lafleur Sanders.
Carrying Carl to his final resting place are Eric Manuel, Beau Broussard, Brent Broussard, Kent Richard, Shiloh Richard and Esteban Bustamante.
Carl's presence will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched with his witty personality and loyal caretaking of his family. His memory will forever live on through the love he shared with those around him. The wisdom he poured into his family will continue on for generations to come.
