IOTAIt is with heavy hearts to announce the passing of Burkman Edward Leckelt, Sr. on December 22, 2009 at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley at the age of 46. Funeral Services will be Celebrated on Thursday, December 24, 2009 at 10:00 am at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Iota. Rite of Committal will follow in the Maxie Cemetery with Father Mikel Polson Celebrant.

Burkman was very much loved and will be missed dearly by his companion, Jeanette Jay Vidrine of Iota; his son, Burkman Leckelt, Jr. of Iota; his mother, Nelma Fran Leckelt of Iota; and three sisters, Mary Cynthia Bellon, Elizabeth Claire Doucet, and Agnes Lynette Guidry, all of Iota.

Now he rests in heaven with his beloved father, Joseph Louis Leckelt and a brother, Joseph Kevin Blue Leckelt.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Iota on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Thursday, December 24, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Thursday evening.
