BASILEA wonderful father, brother, grandfather and friend, Burkman Patrick Fruge will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Burkman died peacefully on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was 90. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Brian Taylor Celebrant.

Burkman was a resident of Basile and a rice and soybean farmer. He was very much loved by his two children, his son, Burkman Patrick Fruge, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Mamou his daughter, Ann Fruge Sonnier and husband, Reggie of Basile his sister, Jeanette F. Chapman of Lake Charles and his two grandchildren, Shelby and Jack Sonnier.

Now he rests in Heaven with his beloved wife, Ellen Dale Johnson Fruge his parents, Theodore Buddy and Rose Fusilier Fruge.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile on Tuesday, June 29th from 1:00 pm until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 3:00 pm Tuesday evening.
