EUNICE-Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 02, 2007 at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice, for Mr. Burkman Burke Joseph Ashford, 72, who passed away Sunday, December 31, 2006, at the Basile Care Center.

Interment will follow in the Ashford Cemetery in Duralde with Father Ken Dominique officiating.

Mr. Ashford was a native of Basile and a mechanic for L.G. Seale and Company and Sattler Supply.

Survivors include his lovely wife, Lorita Rider Ashford of Basile; three daughters, Christy A. Manuel of Basile, Denise Ashford and husband, Michael Castille of Basile, Kaylin A. Fontenot and husband, Sidney of Basile; three sisters Euna Manuel of Eunice, Thea Ashford of Basile, Anna Belle Gutentag and husband, Edwin of Lakewood, Colorado; nine grandchildren, Kyle, Raun, Hailey, Lindsey, Robert, Catherine, Jennifer, Thea, Nicholas; four great-grandchildren, Adam, Kadin, Kallie, Aidan.

The family request that visitation hours be observed from 2:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Monday, January 01, 2007, at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice, and again on Tuesday, January 02, 2007 at 8:00 a.m. until time of services with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening.
