EUNICEWith much sorrow, the family of Buford J. Vidrine announces his passing on the morning of Monday, October 13, 2014 at the age of 72 with family by his side in the comfort of his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Father Sensat, Celebrant.

Buford was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus. He was very active at the Church of Annunciation in Duralde where he was also a trustee. He was a member of the Parish Council Financial Committee, and was an insurance agent with Union National Life Insurance Company for 35 years. Buford enjoyed his life and loved landscaping and working in the yard, camping, and being with his family. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. Left to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted wife of fifty years, Joyce M. Vidrine of Eunice. Buford was also extremely loving and proud of his three children, two sons, Phillip Vidrine and wife, Sheila of Eunice and Mitchell Vidrine and wife, Carla of Duralde and a daughter, Kayla V. Vasta and husband, Thomas of Gonzales and his heart was filled with joy and love for his seven grandchildren, Travis Vidrine, Tyler Vidrine, Trent Vidrine, Bailey Vidrine, Preslie Vidrine, Emery and Avery Vasta. He is also survived by his sister, Wedna Vidrine Fruge of Duralde as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alphan and Irene Guillory Vidrine inlaws, Adjust and Evena F. McGee brother, Elvin Vidrine nephews, Bobby, Paul, James and Lance Vidrine, and Randy Fruge niece, Karen Leger.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, October 14th from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Wednesday, October 15th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Tuesday evening.
