It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Kay Lavergne, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who left this world Friday, September 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 66 years.
Brenda was born on October 1, 1957, to Lew Allen and Mavis Marcantel Manuel. Her nurturing spirit shone brightly throughout her life as a dedicated registered nurse, skilled woodworker, talented seamstress, and passionate flower gardener. Each endeavor reflected her caring nature and love for the simple beauties of life.
She shared 48 wonderful years with her devoted husband, Kent Lavergne, and was the proud mother of two sons, William Scott Lavergne and his wife, Nanette, and Luke Lavergne and his wife, Lauren. Brenda's joy knew no bounds when it came to her five cherished grandchildren: Gage Comeaux, Blaise Lavergne, Wyatt Lavergne, Eli Lavergne, and Annie Lavergne. Brenda's love for her family was immeasurable, touching the lives of everyone around her.
Brenda is survived by her loving brothers, Wayne Manuel and his wife, Monica, and Darrel Manuel and his wife, Vicky; her adoring sisters, Janell Deshotel and Melissa Vidrine and her husband, Steve; as well as an extensive circle of extended family and dear friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
She is preceded in death by her father, Lew Allen Marcantel; her mother, Mavis Morein; and her stepfather, Dionel Morein.
In honor of Brenda's life, a visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and again on Monday from 8:00 AM until the time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 23, 2024, at St. Thomas Chapel in Eunice, with burial to follow at the St. Thomas Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Korey R. Lavergne. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Sunday, led by Brenda Ann Mistrot, followed by a touching eulogy by Liz Lejeune.
Bringing Brenda to her final resting place will be her sons, William Scott Lavergne and Luke Lavergne, along with her grandson Gage Comeaux, grandson Blaise Lavergne, and brother Darrel Manuel and brother-in-law Ricky Lavergne.
Though she will be greatly missed, Brenda’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her kindness and light. Family and friends are invited to share memories and condolences online at www.ardoinfuneralhomes.com
