EUNICEA wonderful mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Betty Jane Fontenot Smith will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Betty died on Tuesday, September 02, 2014 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. She was 75. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00am on Wednesday, September 03, 2014 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Sensat Celebrant.

Betty was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a very kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She will be greatly missed by her children, Connie Smith of New Iberia, Mylene Kay Higginbotham and husband, Gary, Ricky James Smith, and Donna Smith Soileau and husband, Blake all of Eunice a brother, Lester Fontenot and wife, Faye of Basile two sisters, Viola Courville and Myrtis Duplechin and husband, John all of Lafayette. She was blessed with seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Allen Joseph Smith two sons, Rudy John Smith and Ronnie Lee Smith grandson, Jesse Paul DeRouen and a sister, Jeanette Fontenot.

At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, September 2nd from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Wednesday, September 3rd from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Tuesday evening.
