IOTABetty Hannon Miller, 81 a life long resident of Iota passed away peacefully to meet our Heavenly Father on June 21, 2010 surrounded by family and friends in her home. She was born on November 17, 1928 in Evangeline, to the late Mable Navarre and George Hannon.

She and her late husband of 48 years, Nolan Hugh Miller were the parents of six children, two daughters, Charlotte Gayle and husband, Gibson Miller of Iota, Donna Christine and her husband, Gary Johnson of Katy, TX her four sons, Patrick and his wife, Becky of Rayne, Steve and his wife, Loretta of Iota, Terry and his wife, Gloria of Richmond, TX and Timmy and his wife, Roxanne of Iota.

She leaves behind one sister, Margarite Hannon Tucker and husband, Leo Dub of Lafayette, one brother, Charles Hannon and wife, Ramona of Lake Charles fifteen grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren one sisterinlaw, Joyce Miller LeJeune of Iota.

Now she rests in Heaven with her beloved husband, parents, and her in laws, Alexon and Nola Miller.

Pallbearers are her six grandsons, Nolan Miller, Alex Miller, Jacob Johnson, David Johnson, Scott Miller and Lyle Guidry.

Father Mikel Polson, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota will officiate in the Christian Burial Services on June 24th at 10:00 am.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Iota on Wednesday, June 23rd from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Thursday, June 24th from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Wednesday evening.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Mrs. Millers caregivers, Clotille Vallier, Andrea Spencer, Dianne Cart and Vali Ponce, Dr. Chad Vincent and all involved with LA Hospice and Palliative Care in Jennings and all St. Joseph Catholic Church personnel and volunteers.

All who have faith knew that there is life after death and now Betty is walking hand in hand with Shug the love of her life.
