EUNICEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Bessie Bellard Fletcher announces her passing on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Oak Lane Wellness Rehabilitation Center in Eunice at the age of 79. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Clint Trahan Celebrant.

Bessie was a resident of Eunice who devoted her life to care of her family as well as upbringing of other children. She was a great cook and also a great parishioner at St. Anthony Catholic Church and was devoted to supporting St. Edmund School. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves behind a loving and grateful family including her son, Randy Fletcher and his wife, Kemla of Rayne; her two daughters, Catherine Fletcher of Baton Rouge and Judy Fletcher Roger of Lafayette; her two brothers, Mickey and Clarence Bellard both of Eunice; and two sisters, Betty Garcille and Linda Soileau both of Lake Charles. Also mourning her loss are her five beautiful grandchildren, Rita Taylor and her husband, Andrew, Jon Fletcher and his wife, Stephanie, Sara Feucht and her husband, Chris, and Jordan and Caissy Roger; her seven great grandchildren, Lili, Krissi, Matti, Taylor, Bryce, Cameron, Kaitlynn and one on the way.

Now she rests in heaven with her beloved parents, George and Eva Maher Bellard and her brother, Bobby Bellard.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Wednesday evening.
