IOTAIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Barbara Thibodeaux Dietz on Monday, December 06, 2010 at the Jennings American Legion Hospital at the age of 70. A Celebration of Life will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 08, 2010 at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Iota. Burial will follow in the Iota Cemetery with Pastor Gary Koopman officiating.

One of the things that brought Barbara the most joy to her life was her talent for sewing which she sewed her daughters wedding dresses. She enjoyed reading and read the Bible faithfully. She was a very kind and loving woman and spending time with her children and grandchildren brought a great deal of joy to her life. She was very much loved by her son, Tyson Q. Dietz and wife, Bonita of Iota her four daughters, Darlene F. LaFosse and husband, Curtis of Crowley, Charlotte K. Green and husband, Charles, Kanthi N. Doucet and husband, Shannon and Wendy B. Dietz and companion, Carlton Fontenot all of Iota her brother, Joseph Howard Thibodeaux and wife, Ruth of Dayton, TX her two sisters, Winnie Tatum and husband, Bill of Kinder and Pat Olsen and husband, Trent of Waco, TX her sisterinlaw, Eva Thibodeaux Lalonde of Eunice. She was blessed with twelve grandchildren, Curtis LaFosse, Jr. Lucas LaFosse, Randall and Brittany Dietz, Jacob Russell Green, Shay Dietz, Corey and Jesse Doucet, Dustin, Matthew, Samantha, and Branden Gary and further blessed with six great grandchildren. Also left to mourn are numerous nephews and nieces. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Barbara now rests in Heaven with her beloved husband, William Rusty Dietz, her parents, Abram and Francis Young Thibodeaux her brother, Louis Thibodeaux her sister, Dorothy Hebert and her grandson, Jesse LaFosse.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Iota on Tuesday, December 7th from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Wednesday, December 8th from 8:00 am until time of services.
