Weetsie Guillory died on December 3, 2010, at the age of 92, in Warner Robins, Georgia where she has been living since February, 2009. Weetsie was married to Murphy J. Guillory, Jr. for fortytwo years before his passing in 1982. Together they had two children, Murphy J. Joey Guillory, III, and Lawrence Larry O. Guillory.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, December 10, 2010 from 12 noon until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening by Deacon Gary Gaudin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Eunice with Father Jerry Messlie officiating.

Weetsie was born on June 16, 1918 in DeQuincy, Louisiana the fourth of six children of Lyda Roberts Rawls and Otice Harry Rawls, Sr. She lived most of her life in Eunice, Louisiana. She graduated second in her class at Eunice High and spent much of her young life with her four sisters, Anna Margaret Mouret Nacquin, Audra Love, Annette Theriot, Bobbie Savoy, and one brother Otice Sonny Harry Rawls, Jr.

Weetsie was always focused on politics, education, family, Christ, and the enjoyment of life. She enjoyed fishing and was even the Eunice Bass Clubs Big Bass Champion of 1975. Weetsie was also a successful business woman and servant to the community of Eunice. She and Murphy owned and ran Murphys Package Store for more than 40 years. When her children were in school, she served as the president of the St. Eds Mothers Club, now known as the PTA. She served as the SecretaryTreasurer of the Eunice Special Education and Vocational School for 30 years the Chairperson of the Salvation Army for the City of Eunice for 30 years a voting commissioner for 35 years past board of director of the St. Landry Parish Red Cross a 30 year member of the St. Anthonys Catholic Daughters a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church Alter Society a Past Chairperson of the TriParish fair and Past Chairperson of the Diamond Jubilee Celebration.

Weetsie is survived by her son, Lawrence O. Guillory, two daughterinlaws, Donna Guillory, and Theresa Guillory, Joeys wife two sisters, Annette Theriot and Bobbie Savoy her brother Sonny Rawls, Jr. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Kelly Stringer, Melanie Savell, and Lori Parker, Joeys childrenand Lyda Hartley, Lawrence O. Guillory II, and David J. Guillory Larrys children and their respective spouses, Charles Stringer, Bubba Savell, and Lane Parker and Scott Hartley, Becky Guillory, Nancy Guillory. She is also survived by her 15 greatgrandchildren, Alex, Victoria, and Andrew Stringer, Seth, Miles, and Hanna Savell, Grace Ann, Elizabeth, Luke and Matthew Parker, Thomas, and Elizabeth Hartley, Daisy Guillory, Joseph Guillory and Owen Guillory. She is preceded in death by her husband, Murphy J. Guillory, Jr., her son Joey Murphy J. Guillory, III, sisters Anna Margaret Mouret Nacquin and Audra Love and greatgrandson, William Lane Parker, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, she requested donations be made to the Salvation Army, or to the Pine Point Hospice Facility in Macon, Ga., through the Hospice of Central Georgia, 858 High Street, Macon, Ga. 31201.
