EUNICEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Archie Turner announces his passing on August 17, 2010 at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was 90. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Cemetery with Reverend Orville Rogers officiating.
Archie serviced his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II. He was a rice farmer, but most importantly he was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He lived a full life surrounded by people who loved him and he loved. His greatest joy in life was his family including his two sons, Carrol Turner of Crowley and Tim Turner and wife, Cheryl of Richard his daughter, Loraine Keowen and husband, Blaine of Church Point and his sister, Juanita Young of Eunice. He was the loving grandfather of six grandchildren and six great grandchildren who were a great source of joy. He was a special person and we will all miss him greatly.
Now he rests in Heaven with his beloved wife of 59 years, Una Bellard Turner.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on August 18th from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Thursday, August 19th from 8:00 am until time of services.
In lieu of flowers, family request that memorial donations be made to the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church Building Fund, 1138 Academy Drive, Eunice, LA 70535.
