She was a long time member of the Catholic Daughters Association and was named Daughter of the Year in 1995. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. The word love best describes her life. She loved everyone she met and had a way of making them love her. She was a great cook and made everyone feel at home. She made a quilt for each of her grandchildren when they were born. Easter was a special time for her, she was well known for her Easter egg creations. She was a very caring and special person and will be missed by all.
She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Anna Belle will be lovingly remembered by her one daughter, Gwen B. Chambers and husband, Tom of Picayune, MS; five sons, Frank Bertrand and wife, Brenda of Gonzales, John Lapin Bertrand and wife, Pat of Eunice, Newton Fig Bertrand and wife, Cyn of Lake Charles, Willis Bertrand and wife, Mona of Eunice, and Richard Bertrand of Eunice; one sister, Ena Vidrine of Ville Platte; one sister-in-law, Una Billedeaux of Opelousas; ten grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. Anna Belle will be forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She is ready to be reunited in Heaven with her husband, J. Aswell Bertrand; her parents, Aristille and Rita Marcantel Billedeaux; three sisters, Oliva Manuel, Ola Miller, and Agnes Aucoin; and three brothers, Avie, Doug, and Olide Dou Billedeaux; and other relatives and friends who preceded her.
